๐ Overview of MSC Nastran
High-performance computing (HPC) enables MSC Nastran to ensure structural systems have the necessary integrity and characteristics to avoid compromised structural function and safety. For example, Nastran can improve the economy of vehicles and passenger comfort, including electric vehicles (EVs).
MSC Nastran is a multidisciplinary structural analysis application that engineers use to perform static, dynamic, and thermal analysis across linear and nonlinear domains. It is complemented by automated structural optimization and award-winning embedded fatigue analysis technologies, all enabled by high-performance computing.
This program is based on sophisticated numerical methods, the most prominent of which is the Finite Element Method. Built-in implicit numerical techniques can solve nonlinear FE problems. Several optimization algorithms, including MSCADS and IPOPT, are available. nCode International Ltd. and MSC Software developed its fatigue capability jointly.
